No, and we would rather tell you now than send someone out. Above roughly twenty feet the work changes (rigging, drop zones, proximity to buildings and power), and it belongs with a certified arborist or a tree service, which is what Crown’s own site recommends for larger trees. We clear land and take small trees; a sixty-foot oak over your roof is not our job and pretending otherwise would be the expensive kind of optimism. Send a photo with a person or a door in it for scale and you will get a straight answer in minutes.
Do you grind the stumps?
Yes, to ground level or below, and it is priced per stump from $160 whether or not we removed the tree. Worth knowing what grinding actually does: it removes the stump, not the root system. The roots stay in the ground and break down over several years, which is fine for grass and fine for most planting, and is worth raising with your builder before anything structural goes over the spot.
Do you haul away the wood and debris?
Yes, and it is in the price rather than added afterwards. We run our own trucks, so the timber, brush and grindings leave the property rather than being stacked at the back of the garden for you to deal with later. If you want the wood kept for firewood, say so and we will leave it cut and stacked instead.
How is pricing determined?
Height first (it must be under twenty feet), then diameter, location and access. Small trees and saplings under roughly 10 to 12 feet run $160 to $400; twelve to twenty feet is $400 to $1,000 and up; stump grinding is $160 to $400 and up per stump. A tree in open ground is a fraction of the same tree leaning over a conservatory.
Can you remove trees near fences or structures?
Usually yes, and it is one of the categories above: trees along property lines, fences and driveways are a good share of what we take out. Proximity is a pricing factor rather than a disqualifier, because it means taking the tree down in smaller sections and roping rather than felling. Send a photo showing what is on both sides of it.
