People ask what it costs to remove a shed. The honest answer is that there are two prices, and which one applies is a decision rather than a fact.
Structure only
The shed goes, the concrete stays
The building comes down and leaves on our trucks, and the pad it stood on is left in place, swept. Cheapest version, and the right one if you are putting something else on the same base, or if the pad is sound and you can live with it.
This is what most quotes silently assume you meant.

The footprint goes back to ground
The pad is broken out, loaded and weighed off, and you get bare ground. Concrete is priced by weight rather than area, so a thick garage slab can cost more to remove than the garage standing on it did, which is the part worth knowing before you ask for it.

No, and you should not feel you need to. Contents are part of the job: that is the difference between a demolition company and a crew that turns up and finds a shed full of paint tins. Volume does price in, so tell us roughly how full it is when you send photos, and say if there is anything unusual in there. Crown’s own accepted-items list puts a few categories in an additional-charge bracket, which is much better dealt with in the quote than on the day.
Does the concrete slab come out too?
Only if you want it to, and it is the biggest single fork in this price. Concrete is heavy, it is priced by weight rather than area, and breaking out a garage slab can cost more than removing the garage standing on it. We quote both versions so you can see the difference and decide. If you are putting something else on the same footprint, the answer is usually to take it out; if you are turning it back to lawn, often it is not.
Can you remove a shed with a rotten or unsafe roof?
Yes, and it is worth flagging in the photos rather than leaving as a surprise. A structure that has partly failed comes apart differently: there is no safe order to dismantle something that is already deciding its own order, and that changes the method rather than ruling out the job. Older outbuildings sometimes have cement-sheet roofing, which is a question worth asking before anyone starts; if that is what you have, say so and we will tell you what it means.
What about the fence panels or the neighbor’s side?
Told us in advance, it is a planning question; discovered on the day, it is a problem. Sheds are very often tight against a boundary, which means access from one side only and sometimes agreement from next door. Send a photo that shows the gap between the shed and the fence and we will tell you whether it changes anything.
How long does a shed removal take?
Most garden sheds are a half day, contents included. A barn, a detached garage or anything with concrete coming out is longer, and the concrete rather than the structure is usually what sets the day. You get a time with the price.
