Shed & Outbuilding Removal
Farm outbuildings, mostly.
Woodford County ground means barns, run-in sheds and equipment stores rather than garden sheds, and the slab or pad under them is usually the larger half of the job.
Shed & outbuilding removalStructures, interiors, outbuildings, concrete, decks and fences taken down and hauled off. Woodford County is the one place we work where building code enforcement is not local, and that changes who you ask rather than what you get.

This sounds like a technicality and is not. It changes who signs off your structure, and it is the sort of thing you would only discover halfway through.
What the state roster shows. Kentucky’s own county listing for Woodford records a state building inspector rather than a local one. The same document uses a “local” heading for the electrical inspector, so the distinction is deliberate rather than an omission. Woodford is the only one of our eight counties where that is the case.
Where the permit itself comes from. The City of Versailles answers this directly: “you may obtain permits from the Versailles-Woodford County-Midway Planning and Zoning Commission by calling (859) 873-8611.” The city’s own code backs it up, providing that “no building permit shall be issued until such fees as are established by the Planning and Zoning Commission are paid by the permit applicant.”
There is no Versailles demolition ordinance. The city’s building chapter adopts the state building, residential, electrical and plumbing codes and sets permit fees. It contains no demolition, wrecking or razing section of its own. So unlike Paris or Richmond there is no local rule to read: the route runs through the commission and, above it, the state code.
And what we could not establish. The commission’s own pages, its forms and the county zoning ordinance all sit on a domain that blocks automated access, so this page cannot tell you Versailles’ demolition fee, its application requirements, or whether an asbestos report, utility disconnect evidence or insurance is asked for. Other towns in our area require all of those. We are not going to assume this one matches.
Do not ring the Code Enforcement Board on (859) 873-5436 for this: that office handles property maintenance and overgrown ground, not demolition permits. This is a plain-English summary of published material, not legal advice, and the commission on (859) 873-8611 is the authority on your address.
Every job here ends the same way: the structure down, the debris on our trucks and off your property. See the full demolition service

Shed & outbuilding removal
Miles of it, and some of it maintained.
Priced by the running foot and the post type. Where a run sits against maintained board fencing that is staying, the care is the cost rather than the length.
Fence & gate removal
Rear decks and porches.
Attached ones leave a ledger and a wall behind it. We take it off and show you what is there before we leave rather than after.
Deck & porch demolition
Pads, drives and feed aprons.
Priced by weight. On farm ground the pours tend to be thicker than residential, which moves the number more than the square footage does.
Concrete removal
Houses and farm offices.
Interior strip-outs come back as a shell for the next trade. The work is indoors, so this is one of the jobs where the drive out here costs you nothing.
Interior gutting, in detail
Permit route first.
A whole structure here starts with a call to the planning commission below, because the arrangement in this county is genuinely different from its neighbors.
House & building demolitionBecause we cannot publish this county’s requirements, the useful thing this page can do is tell you exactly what to ask so the call takes five minutes instead of three.
What is the demolition permit fee, and is it flat or valuation-based? Is there a demolition application form, or does demolition go on the general building permit? Do you require an asbestos report attached, and at what building types? Do you need evidence that utilities are disconnected before the permit issues?
These questions cover everything the other seven towns in our area ask for.
Whatever the commission tells you, send it over with the photos. We would rather quote against the real requirements than against a guess, and the lead time on an asbestos report or a utility disconnect is the part that decides your start date rather than the demolition itself.
If you have had a notice about the property, it will cite what applies. Send that too.
The same published ranges as the main demolition service: a page about one city should not quote you a different number from the page about the service. You get a firm figure before anything starts.
Wood, chain-link, vinyl and metal. Usually priced by the running foot and the post type.
Decks and porches from $400; concrete from $400, where weight and access move it more than area does.
Sheds, barns, garages and small structures, hauled away complete. Contents included.
Walls, drywall, insulation, flooring, ceilings and fixtures. Priced on rooms and what is behind them.
Residential and small commercial. Permits, utility disconnects and disposal volume drive this one.
PLACEHOLDER: three real Woodford County jobs, before and after. Name the road or the part of the county and what was cleared in each caption; that detail is the part a competitor cannot copy.

Outside Woodford County? We demolish across Central Kentucky: Lexington, Georgetown, Nicholasville, Richmond, Frankfort, Winchester and Paris. The permit arrangement described above is this city’s own, and across our eight towns no two of them are the same, which is the whole reason this page exists.
Very quick from contact to in home to remove some flooring. Once on site they got straight to work and did an outstanding job! Very reasonable price for the work done. Will continue to use them for all future needs.
Extremely helpful and nice, was hired for land clearing and site preparation they removed pesky honey suckle. Definitely going to hire them in the future.
Very hard workers that cleaned out a whole house that was trashed and filthy. Very polite and considered. Would definitely recommend this company!
If yours isn’t here, call: we’d rather answer it before you book than after.
Send photos with the address and the date. On a structure the permit sets the start date, not us, and we say so before you book rather than after.
(859) 213-6077Permits here come through the Versailles-Woodford County-Midway Planning and Zoning Commission on (859) 873-8611: the city says so in its own FAQ, and the city code provides that no building permit issues until the fees established by that commission are paid. Woodford is also the only county in our service area with no local building inspector recorded on Kentucky’s own roster; building code enforcement here is the state’s. That is a genuinely unusual arrangement and it is worth knowing before you start ringing round.
We could not establish either, and we would rather tell you that than fill the gap with another town’s requirements. The commission’s pages, its forms and the county zoning ordinance all sit on a domain that blocks automated access. The city code adopts the state building and residential codes and sets permit fees, but contains no demolition or wrecking section of its own. The section above sets out the questions to ask on (859) 873-8611 so the call is quick.
No. That is a different office doing a different job. The Versailles Code Enforcement Board on (859) 873-5436 deals with property maintenance and nuisance matters such as overgrown grass, and it can issue citations and file liens. It does not issue demolition permits. For a demolition the commission on (859) 873-8611 is the right first call.
Yes, and it is a fair share of what we do in Woodford County. Barns, run-in sheds, equipment stores, feed aprons and long fence runs. Two things matter more out here than in town: whether a loaded truck can get in and back out, and what is under the structure, because farm pours tend to be thicker than residential ones and concrete is priced by weight.
A fence or gate is $200 to $1,200 and up; a deck, porch or concrete slab $400 to $2,500 and up; a shed or outbuilding $500 to $1,800 and up; interior gutting $1,500 to $6,000 and up; a house or small building $4,000 to $15,000 and up. Those are the same published figures as our main demolition page. Whatever permit fee the commission sets is separate and is theirs.
Versailles, Midway and the county between them. The ZIP codes are listed above. The same planning commission covers all three, which at least makes the permit question consistent wherever in the county you are.
Send photos and the address. If it is a structure, ring the planning commission on (859) 873-8611 first: the questions in the section above are all it takes, and we will quote against their answers rather than against an assumption.
