The city is explicit about it. Richmond Public Works lists garbage collection through its contractor, snow removal and street maintenance, and states that “chipping and leaf maintenance should be discarded by homeowners themselves, contractors must remove and discard of their own waste.” There is no municipal brush run to wait for and no bulk pickup to book.
What that means in practice. A cleared lot in Lexington can lean on a free city collection for part of the tidy-up. A cleared lot in Richmond cannot. Whoever cuts it has to haul it, which is worth knowing before you compare a quote that includes the haul-off against one that quietly does not.
It is also why we are set up differently here. Richmond is the longest run we make, so this is where we are aimed at land clearing, lot work and larger hauls rather than single-item pickups, and where owning the trucks and dumpsters matters most, because there is no free alternative underneath the job.
