Questions we get from Scott County
If yours isn’t here, call: we’d rather answer it before you book than after.

Send the address with your photos. Settle which rules apply before the notice goes out, and we will say plainly if the timing you have in mind will not work.

Does Kentucky’s landlord-tenant act apply to my rental in Georgetown?
Inside the city limits, yes: the City of Georgetown adopted it, and it sets the notice periods, seven days for unpaid rent, fourteen to put a breach of the lease right and a month otherwise. Outside the city, unincorporated Scott County is not on the Kentucky Fair Housing Council’s list of places where it applies, so your lease and Kentucky’s general landlord statutes govern. We are not lawyers: your attorney is the authority on which applies to your address.
Where are evictions and probate filed in Scott County?
Both go through the Scott District Court, and the Circuit Court Clerk’s office has the forms for both: Scott County Justice Center, 119 N. Hamilton St., Georgetown, (502) 863-0474, 8:30am to 4:30pm on weekdays.
How soon after an eviction can you clear the unit?
Once the warrant for possession has been executed and the unit is lawfully yours. After judgment the tenant has seven days to appeal, and the warrant only issues if they do not. Give us the date when you have it and we hold a slot against it.
What does a cleanout cost in Georgetown?
A single space is $280 to $520, a large space or several rooms $520 to $850, and a whole property $850 to $1,280 and up. Those are Crown’s own published figures and the same in every town we work. What moves you inside the range is how much there is, how far it has to be carried, and whether anything is being sorted rather than cleared. A cleanout is a booked visit rather than a same-day call, so Scott County costs you nothing extra on a job this size.
Do I have to sort it before you come?
No, and on most of these you should not try. Tell us what is being kept (a room, a category, a list) and we work around it. What costs money is sorting mid-job because nobody agreed it beforehand. If you want everything gone, that is the fastest and cheapest version and you can say so plainly.
Which parts of Georgetown do you cover?
All of Scott County, inside the city limits and out. The ZIP codes are listed above and the neighborhoods are Crown’s own published list. Our yard is sixteen miles down I-75, so a job here is a normal day rather than a trip.
