Furniture & Appliance Pickup
When the city said no.
A television, a treadmill, a fridge full of oil, or a sofa the curb rules defeated. One item, carried from wherever it actually is rather than from the curb.
Single item removal, in detailOne item or a houseful. Before you book anything, it is worth knowing that Lexington will take a surprising amount of it from your curb for nothing, and that there is one category it will not touch.

This is the most generous bulky-item policy in our service area and the one with the least obvious edge. Both halves are worth knowing before you pay anyone, including us.
Most of it goes on your normal collection day. The city states that “most bulky items to including mattresses, box springs” can be collected from the curb on your regular day, and that “bulky item pickup is a free service for households with city waste collection services.” Refrigerators, freezers, washers, dryers and stoves are on the list. Grills go too, with the tank removed.
Freon is accepted, which is genuinely unusual. The page is explicit: “appliances containing Freon will be accepted.” Most authorities in this region either refuse sealed-system appliances or charge a recovery fee. Appliances containing oil are still rejected. Tires are capped: “the city will pick up to four small truck or car tires a week.”
Then the edge. “The city does not offer curbside collection for humidifiers, TVs, microwaves, computers, printers and other electronics.” That is the whole consumer-electronics category, and it is the single most common reason a Lexington curbside pile is left behind. Whatever else you sort out, the screens are yours to solve.
Placement matters more than people think. The item must not be “blocked by vehicles, fire hydrants, trees, cable wires or other objects.” A sofa put out behind a parked car is a sofa that stays.
Request it through LexCall on 311 or (859) 425-2255, or submit a service request online; pickups are “normally made within five business days.” This is a plain-English summary of published material, not legal advice, and LFUCG Waste Management is the authority on its own service.
One item or a houseful: loaded, hauled and disposed of, with the recyclable and donatable part separated out rather than tipped. See the full junk removal service

Single item removal, in detail
The one that grew.
Lexington garages and basements fill over decades and empty in an afternoon. Priced by how much of the truck it fills, not by how many trips it feels like.
Garage & basement cleanouts
Fayette County probate and sales.
Often a Chevy Chase or Southland property going to market on a date the executor did not choose. Donations sorted out rather than the lot tipped.
Estate cleanouts
Discretion, on a close street.
Lexington blocks sit tight together and neighbors notice a truck. Unmarked scheduling and an early start where that matters.
Hoarding cleanouts
The category the city excludes outright.
Construction debris has no LFUCG curbside route at any volume, so a Lexington renovation always needs a trade collection or a dumpster.
Construction debris removalNone of this is a criticism of the city service, which is better than most. It is simply where it stops, and knowing that in advance is cheaper than finding out on collection day.
Televisions, computers, printers and microwaves are excluded outright. A living-room clearout is usually one or two screens plus furniture, and the furniture half goes free while the screens sit there.
This is the most common single-item call we take in Fayette County.
The free service covers “households with city waste collection services.” A great many Lexington flats and condos are on a private hauler contract instead, and none of this applies to them.
Check which one you are on before you rely on it. Your bill will say.
Five business days is quick for a municipal service and far too slow for a closing date, a lease end or a landlord walkthrough on Friday.
Deadlines are most of why anyone pays for this. We quote back within two hours, guaranteed.
The same published ranges as the main junk removal service: a page about one city should not quote you a different number from the page about the service. You get a firm figure before anything starts.
One item, or two or three together. Curbside is the low end; upstairs or a tight doorway is the high end.
Priced on how much of the truck it fills, from a few items to multiple rooms' worth.
A single garage or partial basement through to a packed space or a whole-property clear.
PLACEHOLDER: three real Fayette County jobs, before and after. Name the road or the part of the county and what was cleared in each caption; that detail is the part a competitor cannot copy.
CROWN’s own published list of the parts of Lexington and Fayette County we work most often.
Outside Fayette County? We haul across Central Kentucky: Georgetown, Nicholasville, Richmond, Frankfort, Winchester, Versailles and Paris. The collection rules described above are this city’s own, and across our eight towns no two of them are the same, which is the whole reason this page exists.
Very hard workers that cleaned out a whole house that was trashed and filthy. Very polite and considered. Would definitely recommend this company!
Very quick from contact to in home to remove some flooring. Once on site they got straight to work and did an outstanding job! Very reasonable price for the work done. Will continue to use them for all future needs.
Extremely helpful and nice, was hired for land clearing and site preparation they removed pesky honey suckle. Definitely going to hire them in the future.
If yours isn’t here, call: we’d rather answer it before you book than after.
Send photos with the address and the date. Same-day depends on what is already booked, so asking early in the day is what gets it done that day.
(859) 213-6077Yes, for households on city waste collection. LFUCG says “bulky item pickup is a free service for households with city waste collection services” and that “most bulky items to including mattresses, box springs” go from the curb on your regular collection day. Request it through LexCall on 311 or (859) 425-2255. It is normally collected within five business days. If that works for your job, use it: it costs you nothing and it is the right answer.
Yes. Refrigerators, freezers, washers, dryers and stoves are on the city list, and unusually for this region “appliances containing Freon will be accepted.” Most authorities near here either refuse sealed-system appliances or charge a recovery fee. Appliances containing oil are still rejected, and the unit has to be at the curb and unobstructed.
The city states plainly that it “does not offer curbside collection for humidifiers, TVs, microwaves, computers, printers and other electronics.” No reason is published on the bulky items page. It is the single most common thing left behind on a Lexington curb after a clearout, and it is the job we are most often called about in Fayette County.
Four. LFUCG says “the city will pick up to four small truck or car tires a week.” More than four, or anything larger than a small truck tire, needs another route.
Possibly not. The free service is for households with city waste collection, and a large share of Lexington flats and condos are on a private hauler contract instead. Your waste bill will tell you which. If you are on a private contract, the curbside bulky-item rules above are not yours to use.
Yes, and we publish it rather than discovering it with you on the phone. See the price section above. If your job is one item that the city would collect free within five days, we will tell you that instead of quoting you: it is a worse deal for you and we would rather have the clearout later than the sofa now.
Send two or three photos and the address. If the city would take it free, we will say so. If it would not, or you have a date the council cannot meet, you get a firm number back within two hours, guaranteed.
